In apartments and private homes, water filters are used to clean water from impurities. Tap water is not suitable for drinking in its pure form and can negatively affect the condition of dishes during cooking and dry the skin during washing.
The correct sequence of installing water filters ensures their purification throughout their entire service life and prevents the proliferation of microbes in the humid environment of replaceable cartridges. Repair Service Bro has been creating water purification systems for over 11 years. The company is so confident in the quality of its products that it allows testing the product for two weeks before purchasing it for only 7,000 tenge of prepayment as a deposit.
In what order should water filters be installed?
Several cleaning cartridges operate in a certain sequence to ensure complete cleaning. Replacement cartridges must be selected based on a pre-conducted analysis.
The order of cartridges in flow filters
Each cartridge purifies the liquid from specific components. Before installing the filter, a chemical analysis is carried out to understand what the water needs to be purified from and what to enrich it with. The leading filter manufacturers adhere to uniform principles of water purification and offer a unified sequence of their placement.
The decision is based on the research that has proven the effective sequence of installing water filters in the following order:
First cartridge
Installed for mechanical cleaning, it removes impurities that do not dissolve in water. It works on the sediment principle and can be made of polyester or polypropylene threads. It is located first in the cartridge chain since it takes the brunt of the impact and should be easy to replace.
Second cartridge
It is responsible for softening and can simultaneously remove iron from its composition. Filters with ion-exchange resin or calcite represent it. Additional sorption can be organized to improve the liquid’s taste characteristics if the water does not need to be softened at this stage. Such a cartridge is equipped with activated carbon and removes chlorine.
Third cartridge
It purifies water from chlorine and other organic impurities. It is represented by a carbon block of activated carbon with a polypropylene filler.
The order of the filters is because before the water is supplied to the city water supply system, it is subjected to chlorination. If you swap the second and third blocks, the chlorine will be removed earlier. This will cause the reproduction of microorganisms in the last cartridge, from which the liquid flows into our glasses.
The order of installation of cartridges in a reverse osmosis water filter
The system’s main element is the reverse osmosis membrane. This is the most expensive filter element because it removes impurities. To install it, you should contact RO Service in Patna.
The vulnerability of the part is that frequent interaction with chlorine corrodes the membrane and reduces its filtering capabilities. This fact determines the following order of cartridges:
Pre-filtration
Heavy impurities are removed at this stage to reduce the negative impact on the reverse osmosis membrane and extend its service life.
Reverse osmosis
Excess salts, iron, and live bacteria are removed from the liquid at this stage. Softened water with a minimum amount of salts becomes almost distilled, but even after this, the purification is not complete.
Post-filtering
Water from the storage tank passes through the carbon block. Since it settles in a stationary state in the tank, bacteria can begin to develop. They settle on the walls of the cartridge and can get into the glass during the flow function.
Additional cleaning
We are talking about mineralizers and pH-level normalizers. These measures are unnecessary since the reverse osmosis system ultimately copes with its task.
When you buy a filter, the correct order of cartridges is already installed. You can also read the sequence in the instructions.
